CCPA Notice — California Privacy Rights

This notice applies to California residents and supplements our Privacy Policy. It describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended.
We sell your brief — only when you ask us to send it
Frank Finly is free for you because advisory firms pay us. After you press Send my brief, we sell your brief to one financial advisory firm. The same happens when you submit one of our Retirement Score, Retirement Age, Tax Optimizer or Advisor Match questionnaires. We treat this as a "sale" of personal information under California law, and we call it what it is.
What we sell. Your brief: your name, email address and phone number; your answers — for example your age, when you plan to retire, your income range, your account balances, expenses and debts, the kinds of accounts and insurance you have, and what you want to talk about, plus any details about your spouse or a parent you chose to include; a 1–5 rating we calculate from those answers, which sets the price; and whether we have sold a brief of yours before. On the dashboard you see every answer on the "Before your brief goes" screen before you press Send. If you add or change answers later, the firm sees the update in its copy of your brief on Frank Finly. Your brief never includes answers about anyone's health — yours, your spouse's or a parent's. It can include the kind of health coverage you have, such as an employer plan or, from 65, Medicare.
Who buys it. One financial advisory firm at a time. Among the firms that buy briefs like yours, the one that offers to pay us the most for it receives it. If that sale is cancelled, we may sell your brief to another firm that hasn't had it. If you sent your brief from your dashboard, we email you the name of each firm that gets it. Write to [email protected] and we'll tell you which firm has your brief.
What the firm may do with it. Contact you about the conversation you asked for and, if you choose to work with them, serve you. Our terms with the firm forbid it from selling or sharing your brief or using it for anything else.
If you allow Advertising in Cookie settings, we also let advertising partners, such as Meta and Google, collect information through cookies and pixels on our website to measure and target our ads. California law calls this "sharing." Advertising is off until you allow it.
You can opt out of the sale and sharing at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, by email to [email protected], or with Global Privacy Control. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Frank Finly is for adults.
Your CCPA Rights
California residents have the right to:
- Know — Request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months
- Delete — Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
- Correct — Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing — on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, by email to [email protected], or with Global Privacy Control. An opt-out doesn't need identity verification.
- Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights
How to Submit a Request
To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected]. Include your full name and email address. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within 45 days unless we need more time, in which case we will notify you.
To opt out of the sale or sharing, use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page; we don't ask you to verify your identity for that.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. We will require the agent to provide written authorization confirming that authority.

How long we keep it. We keep your answers while you use your dashboard, and as long as we need them to run Frank Finly, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements; then we delete or anonymize them. A firm that buys your brief keeps its copy under its own legal obligations and our terms. You can opt out of the sale and sharing on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
We may also disclose personal information to comply with law, for compliance, fraud prevention, and safety purposes, in the event of business transfers, and to our professional advisors. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Online Tracking Opt-Out Guide
Like many companies online, we use services provided by Google, Meta (Facebook), and other companies that use tracking technology. Meta's advertising pixel and Google's ad features run on our website only if you allow Advertising in Cookie settings. These services rely on tracking technologies — such as cookies and web beacons — to collect information about your browsing activities, your interactions with websites, and the device you are using.
